2/11 and 2/12

2/11

We started our day out with an early morning walk as a family. It was really windy, but a nice way to start the day. I spent the rest of the morning working from home, while Ashlee & Brooks walked up to the park to play. We met back up around lunch time (usual weekday routine), and had lunch at home. After Brooks' nap, we went on an adventure. We drove to check out some waterfalls. We ended up finding three of them.

After the waterfall sightings, we headed to a beach that Nick & Nancy told us about called Secret Beach. There are no signs for it; just a dirt road off of a side street. That must be why it is called Secret Beach....There is a very steep hike down through the woods to get to the beach, but it was well worth it. It was a rough day, so the waves were really crashing. Everyone made it safely up and down the hill / hike.

After that, we headed home for dinner. Brooks walked to the pool with me where we grilled out chicken, while Ashlee made some salads at the house. Brooks was tired from the hiking, so he sat by the pool in his sweatpants...with his sandals on.

2/12

It was a very laid back morning. Ashlee & Brooks played at the house for most of the morning, and then headed to the pool. I worked for the morning, and met Ashlee & Brooks at the pool for lunch. As usual, Brooks napped in the afternoon while Ashlee and I hung out. After Brooks' nap, we headed up to the park where Brooks played tag for an hour or so with another little boy he made friends with. They had a lot of fun. When they weren't playing tag, they were pretending to be on a ship and hiding from Captain Hook. After the park, we headed up to Hanalei to the Dolphin for dinner. We sat outside at some tables overlooking the Hanalei River, and then had a delicious dinner: Sushi / Shrimp / Ahi Tuna. Great seafood! Brooks got to watch them make sushi, and he was really impressed. Ashlee did her hair and wore make up for the second time this trip :)
