We heard its awfully snowy in Ohio, hopefully this will help warm you up! :)
2/3This was our first day just the Haddads. We missed our Dadas tour guides. Brooks and I laid around in the morning until around 9:30 while Joe worked. We are all still adjusting to the time change. Brooks has been up at 5:30 every morning. There is a playground up the road from us so Brooks and I went for a what I thought was a short walk up to it. Ended up being well over a mile each way. This momma quickly realized how out of shape I was! When we got back we packed a lunch and headed down to the pool with Joe.
After lunch we headed back to the house for nap time. Brooks and I slept while Joe went to the driving range down the street.
When Brooks woke up we headed to Hanalei to walk around and check out the town more. We shopped a little and devoured our first shaved ice of the trip. They put ice cream in the bottom then the shaved ice on top. It is so yummy! We headed back to the pool that evening for dinner. The grills are at the pool. All of us were exhausted and went to bed early.

Once again we had our 5:30 a.m. wake up call...aka Brooks. Joe got up and started working while Brooks and I watched a movie. We headed down to the pool around 9 so Joe could get some work done. Brooks quickly made friends with some kiddos at the pool. We have met a lot of people who are doing the same thing we are and staying for 4-6 weeks. Most of them have been doing this for years. Some old and some young. Brooks is doing great swimming with his float on. He swims all around the pool by himself. Joe came down with lunch and then we headed back for naps.
When Brooks got up we headed to the St. Regis hotel to check out their beach. All the beaches here are public so you can go to all of them regardless if you are a guest or not. The beach has such a beautiful back drop! The wind was out of control though. I'm talking instant sand bath as soon as we stepped foot on it. We made sand castles, jumped over waves and explored.
After the beach we decided to go back to Hanalei for dinner. We were all sandy so we wanted to go somewhere we could eat outside. We decided on Bubba Burgers. So good! You order at the window and then sit at picnic tables in the grass. Hanalei is superb for people watching. You can tell who is a local just by what they are doing, (a man climbed a tree to get fruit off of it) and what they are wearing. (a mom and her kids were barefoot and the little girl just had bottoms on, no top)
We headed back to shower and end the night with the best Hawaiian ice cream ever....Bubbies! Bubbies is mochi ice cream. It has a chewy, gummy outer shell with ice cream in the middle. Brooks thought it was so cool he got to eat ice cream with his hands! :)
